DNS is an acronym for Domain Name System (alternatively, Server or Service). It deals with all the information related to a domain name. Most notably, it is responsible for converting a domain name into an IP address when that particular domain name is fed to the internet browser by a user. While domain names are readily memorable, it is the numerical IP address that is necessary for locating the servers. Whenever a domain name typed in a web browser, the DNS servers quickly find out the IP address and direct the browser to the correct server.
