By adding <meta name=”robots” content=”noindex”> in the HTML coding of a webpage, the owner/creator is informing the search engines that this particular page is not supposed to be added in the list of the search results. For example, ‘Members only’ page of a website isn’t supposed to be accessed/viewed by general users. Hence, the noindex directive is put to use.
