Details: A book by Matthew Walker called Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams.
This new book (just released October 2017) is hands down one of my favorite books of all time. This is a book that I think everyone should read! Since high school, I’ve been fascinated with sleep and dreams and have made a point to try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Other than feeling like it was better for my mind and body, I never actually knew of the scientific benefits of sleep. This book is absolutely eye opening, informative, and incredibly important. Why? Because we ALL sleep. We need to end the epidemic of not getting enough sleep because we think it’s a waste of time. There’s a reason we spend a third of our life sleeping – it is vital to our health. The power of sleep goes unnoticed and it’s time we change that – it could mean life or death.
Details: For tracking emails when they’re opened
This app is incredibly useful if you want to track when and if your emails are being opened. This is great for any sales rep or small business. It has given me a lot of peace of mind to know! Try it out for free. If you like it, it’s very worth the $60/year. FYI, this app only works for Gmail or G Suite (Google Apps) users. I’ve tried other apps similar to this in the past and this is hands down my favorite.
Details: TV show on Netflix
Dark is a German thriller Netflix TV series and it is recently one of my favorite shows! If you like mind bending, drama, sci-fi stuff, you’ll LOVE this show. Make sure you watch the show in German with subtitles – don’t watch it dubbed. I’m not a fan of dubbed movies or shows, mainly because it takes away the action and emotions. I’ve really been digging a lot of the international releases on Netflix recently. Some of my other favorite shows on Netflix that I highly recommend is Black Mirror, La Casa de Papel (Money Heist), Borderliner, and House of Flowers.
Details: Fast and free web pages for everyone!
Txti is a super cool concept I stumbled upon. You have to check it out yourself. The website explains what the site is all about best: “Txti is fast web pages for everybody. Most of the world still does not have internet, but many websites from countries like the United States are big and complicated. This makes it hard for people with slow internet to use these sites. It is even harder for those people to put their own thoughts on the internet. With txti, anyone can use any device to share their story.”
Details: The best planner ever
I have only started using this journal/planner for a short while and it is one of the best planners I’ve ever come across. It is divided into 3 sections: Daily, Weekly and Monthly. Each section is tailored to keep you focused and on track for achieving your goals. The journal provides structure and a super fun way to track your personal and work life. Keep in mind that each journal tracks only 13 weeks because it is “the ideal time frame for goal setting”. Give it try!
Details: One of the best SEO resources
This is one of my favorite websites for very detailed and informative SEO case studies by a well known SEO guru named Glen Allsopp. I’ve been following Glen and his blogs for years and have learned so much. I am where I am now, partly because of what I’ve learned from Glen. If you want to learn more about SEO, I highly recommend checking out his posts as well. Recently, Glen and I connected on a personal level and have talked about partnering up on speaking events. He has an incredible amount of SEO knowledge and research that he wants me to help share in conferences! I feel so honored that he asked me to work with him and it’s partly why I am focused on more public speaking. He even sponsored me to got to Vancouver for Shine Bootcamp. He has no idea how much his support means to me. I’m so excited about what the future will bring!
Details: My favorite magazine
I’ve been reading New Scientist on and off or when I get a chance for years. I’ve been a subscriber for awhile and I love getting a new issue in the mail. The magazine is highly informative and up to date. It’s not cheap, but it’s well worth the cost for me because I prefer holding a good ole’ book or magazine when I’m reading.
